We've just returned from two weeks in Maui celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
We saw glorious sunsets

And a beautiful blue ocean on our many excursions around the island

I got in the spirit right away (with the best Mai Tai on the island at Mama's Fish House!)

And we had several wonderful dinners AND desserts at great restaurants! Look at that coconut pie!!  We were actually celebrating Cris' birthday that evening.

But most of the time we ate at home on our lanai watching the ocean and the people below.  We saw whales almost every day from our birds eye view of the world on the 6th floor.

Did I mention the sunsets?

The flowers were gorgeous!

And the landscape and seascape awe-inspiring

Iao Needle State Park was beautiful

We saw the sunrise above the clouds at Haleakala Crater (28 miles of switchbacks from sea level to 10,000 feet)

and sunset that same night from Lahaina harbor (a long day!)

Took my spiral notebook and pencil and wrote about our adventures each day.  We met lots of great characters that will undoubtedly appear in future stories (Stick Man, Romeo, Pink Lady and Mogambe).  But now its back to work!  I start my next class, Keys to Effective Editing, next week.  And I need to catch up with you all!

  1. Welcome back! Fabulous pictures, and it looks like you had a good time.

    Is that class through Ed2Go?

  2. Yes, the class is through Ed2Go and starts April 20th.

  3. Oh my gosh!! It appears that your anniversary vacation celebration was everything you dreamed of and more.

You both look like you're having the time of your life and why wouldn't you!! I'm so happy that you took this special trip as a way of commemorating your many years of marriage.

I still haven't committed to the editing class. I may see if you like it and then take it at a later date. I'm not highly motivated at this time.

(I didn't realize until I came here that I chose the same template design as you. I hope you don't mind).

  4. We did have a wonderful time celebrating Cris' birthday and our anniversary. It was nice to get away from the everyday happenings for a bit.

I'm taking the editing class as a way of getting myself back into the editing process for my novel. It has always worked to jump start me over the motivation hurdle.

Heck no - it means we both have great taste in design, don't cha know!

  5. Lovely photos! It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, "Glad to hear you made it home safe/sound and with a basket full of new characters."

I'm curious to know how your editing class goes, so keep us informed. Would'ya?

  6. LOVE the bird of paradise!

  7. Wow, its fitting that you have a green theme going on here, cuz I green with envy. Wonderful pictures of a wonderful trip, thanks for taking us along.
