Today you’re four
Our Jessie girl.
We love to watch you
Play, dance, and twirl.
A Princess indeed
A dancer too.
You make it fun
To be Grandparents to you.
Your laughter and smile
Light up the sky.
We love your hugs
When you first say “Hi”.
You’re growing up so fast
Already now four.
We can’t wait to see you
And hug you once more.
At Grandma and Grandpa’s house
This summer in the sun.
We’ll play together
And have lots of fun!
So have a Happy Day
This 7th day of June.
And know we’ll see you
At our house real soon.
Love Grandma and Grandpa
What a beautiful princess Jessie is! Wish her a happy birthday for me please.
ReplyDeleteI know Jessie would love a copy of your poem to keep forever.
So adorable! As a grandma of three ornery boys, it does my heart good to see a sweet little pink princess. Jessie is going to treasure the lovely poem her grandma wrote just for her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments! I have 7 soon to be 8 grandkids and they are evenly split - 4 boys and 3 (plus a new one due on 6/26) girls. They are all unique and wonderful! (But then I get to send them home after a day of playing with Grandma!)
ReplyDeleteLooks like I might have a shot at a Hallmark Card writer, perhaps! :)
What a cutie pie! I hope you make books of poems for your grand kids. And how lucky you are to have a bunch of them.
ReplyDeleteI think that is what I will do instead of writing a story for each one. I'm not doing too well with that goal. These types of poems seem to be a lot easier for me to do, especially once I get started!
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable and I love your poem! You have a knack for writing tributes to others...I love that!
